Why Unified E-mail Address Matters A Lot!
Recently seen a story about personal e-mail addresses and the impression that they give off about you, this then can easily be transferred to a non-profit organisations.
Do you have e-mail addresses of (firstname(at)yournonprofit.org) or does it (yournonprofit(at)gmail.com?) Having it un-unified or not branded to your domain, shows those you are trying to get funding from, that you might not be serious enough about what it is you are doing, and you are not showing a good impression using emails (yournonprofit(at)gmail.com) things like that. It is best to have all your emails linked to your domain as this will give your donors some insight into the way your non-profit is run and having everything unified shows that the organisation is committed to what it is all about. It makes it so much easier for the public, volunteers and donors to find you on the internet. Many non-profit organisations go to great lengths to get a website. Owning your own web space to communicate through the Internet is extremely important, this is often enough for the small non-profit organisation which just needs to tell its story, explain how to contact them, and how to support its work. Having an email address that has your organisation’s name at the end of the email that is the part after the @ symbol, this is one of the most important things that your organisation can do to show the public that it is serious and committed about what it is all about and that you are professional in your business workings The lesson is, if your non-profit organisation does not have its email communication unified. The other organisation will not take you serious, and on top of that they will not know who the email is from and might just delete IT! So the moral of the story is, if someone sent you an email and it said something like this [email protected] or [email protected] what would you think, what is it and who are they? This is what I think and believe... |
